This year’s conference will take place in Jebal Ali from the 29th through the 30th of January, 2010. Thanks to Father Eugene and the St. Francis of Assisi parishioners we will have the conference in Jebal Ali. Participants from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah, will be able to return home following the first night of the conference. All others will be housed with families in Jebal Ali.

The main speaker for the conference is Sister Mary Kathleen Glavich, a Notre Dame Sister. She is an author of many catechetical books, including “The Saint Kit”, a resource used in most of our parishes in the Vicariate.

We will also have speakers for the Arabic, French and Spanish catechists.

We hope that you will send many of your catechists including those of other language groups. Those involved in other areas of Christian formation should attend, including the following areas of ministry:

• Sacramental preparation
• R.C.I.A.(Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)
• Children’s liturgy
• Bible studies
• Catholic School religion teachers
• Leaders of prayer groups
• Youth ministry and young adult ministry.

Each participant will pay a registration fee of 50Dhs. The Vicariate will pay for any other expenses.
Please share the good news about this conference with your parishioners. Last year we had around 600 participants. We hope to have a good turnout this year too. The successful outcome of this conference will be the support and improvement of Christian formation for all of our parishes and the religious education in Catholic Schools.
