1. How can I register for a mass?
Ans: Those who wish to attend mass can do so only through the Mass Booking System, click on the Choose Preferred Mass link on the website.
2. What is the information that we need for registration?
Ans: Name, mobile Number, Emirates ID, and Email address (Emirates ID and Email ID are unique fields. You cannot use the same information for multiple users)
3. What are the Age limit for registration?
Ans: According to the latest advisory from the Abu Dhabi Department of Community Development, the previous age limits no longer apply. However, in the interest of your safety, we recommend that children below the age of nine and the elderly who have any serious medical conditions remain home and join us online.
4. What if my Emirates ID has expired?
Ans: You can still use the Emirates ID to register and you need to bring the Emirates ID while attending the mass for verification.
5. How can I book for a Mass?
Ans: Once you log in to your account you can choose your preferred mass.
6. How many masses can I book at a time?
Ans: Mass Allocation is based on the number of Masses attended in the 30 days preceding the Mass. There is no restriction on the number of Masses you can register for, but the system counts even registered upcoming Masses as attended.
7. Does the above Mass limit include Sunday obligatory or Daily Masses?
Ans: There is no distinction between weekday and obligatory Masses
8. When will I get the SMS about my mass confirmation?
Ans: You will receive the SMS on the previous day 24 hours before the Mass.
9. Can I cancel the mass booking after receiving the confirmation?
Ans: Masses are closed 24 hours before the service. After this time no new booking or cancellation can be made.
10. I have not received the SMS, how do I know if my booking is confirmed?
Ans: You can always login to your account and check My Reservations for the status. Check your account to ensure the correct mobile number is entered. You may email massbooking@stjosephsabudhabi.org if you need to change the mobile number registered with your account. The email must be sent from the email associated with your account and should mention your Emirates ID number.
11. How often is the new schedule uploaded?
Ans: We upload the schedule two weeks at a time.
12. I am a parishioner of another parish, can I attend the mass in Abu Dhabi Church?
Ans: Yes, the Church is always open for the faithful provided you adhere with the instructions set up by Abu Dhabi Government.
13. I am on Visit Visa, how can I book for a mass?
Ans: You can register for an account on the system by clicking ‘No Emirates ID’ on the login page. After registration you are required to submit a copy of your Passport and Tourist Visa to massbooking@stjosephsabudhabi.org to verify your documents. Please note accounts take up to 48 hours to get added. You will receive a confirmation email when your account is active. If you have your Old Emirates ID you can use that to register for an account.
14. What if I have entered a wrong Emirates ID number while registering?
Ans: The system check that your Emirates ID entered is valid, it will not accept an incorrect Emirates ID number.
15. Why do I need to bring the Emirates ID or Passport to attend the mass?
Ans: We scan your Emirates ID or Passport at the entrance of the church to verify the booking. Upon verification you will be allowed to enter the church.
16. I have already attended a English mass, will I get a chance to attend the language mass?
Ans: We have not distinguished between English and language masses.
17. Can I get to attend a mass on my birthday or wedding anniversary?
Ans: It’s always better to book the mass in advance as you are aware of the dates.
18. What if I want to attend a mass in case of death in the family?
Ans: Upon request through the parish office, we can help you provided there is seat availability in the church.
19. How early should I come to attend the mass?
Ans: Church gates open 30 minutes before the Mass is scheduled to start. It is always better you come early to complete the checks required and avoid long queues.
20. What if I am confirmed but late for the mass?
Ans: We close the gate when the Mass starts. If you arrive late, you may not be able to attend the Mass.
21. I had made one booking and I could not attend the mass, will I get another chance?
Ans: If you have missed your booking, the same limits apply to book another Mass. If you are unable to attend please cancel your reservation 24 hours prior, this will enable another parishioner to attend and allow you to book another Mass.
22. What if I am on the waiting list, when it will confirm me.
Ans: If your Mass status shows ‘On Wait List’, you will receive a confirmation only if another user waiting for confirmation cancels their booking. Only status’ showing ‘Waiting for Confirmation’ will be confirmed 24 hours before the Mass. Please note, if a user who has attended fewer Masses than you registers your status may change from ‘Waiting for Confirmation’ to ‘On Wait List’
