ABOUT THE MINISTRY
An usher is a minister of hospitality and caring in the church. God was the very first usher - as he ushered in day and light (Gen. 1:3-4). God ushered man into the Garden of Eden (Gen 2:15). Ushers or forerunners are depicted throughout the Bible. The word usher is referred to in the Bible as a gatekeeper, doorkeeper or simply a keeper. An usher fulfils the role of greeting, seating, and security creating an atmosphere of freedom, order, reverence, and respect in the Holy Spirit.
Mission and Vision: “We are one, we serve all”
The vision of our Usher Ministry is to collectively work as a team, creating a warm and welcome environment for members and parishioners, to bring the glory of God to the people so that they may receive from the Lord the things he desires to perform in them. The ushers also maintain the smooth and orderly movement of people during the church service to minimize disruptions.
Role
To usher people into the presence of God, by providing an atmosphere that is free of as many distractions as possible, yet maintain freedom, order, reverence and respect for the Holy Spirit. Ushers treat everyone with dignity and respect.
Attitude of service
Ushers set the spiritual climate of the service by presenting a joyful attitude, make others feel welcome and comfortable, and make sure that everything is flowing in a proper order so that everyone is free to worship without interruption.
Concluding
We would like to make the ushering more attractive and more spiritually rewarding and invite more people to join our committed group.
We are open to suggestions from the congregants that we serve in order to improve and make every church service extremely rewarding.
